Two Bright Secaucus High School Students Have Been Given Important Positions at the Junior State of America Organization

Maria Gigante has been named the Junior State of America (JSA) National Director of Summer School. There are nine National JSA Executive positions and Maria is the 2nd bright Secaucus High School young lady to have been given a National position. Aarushi Kumar served as the National JSA Chief of Staff (2012 - 2013).
Maria is a senior at Secaucus High School and joined the JSA in her Freshman year. She has served as New Jersey Region (NJR) as Director of Public Relations, our school's chapter Board of Education Liaison, the Chapter Secretary and Treasurer. Last year she attended Georgetown University Junior State Summer School and studied Constitutional Law and returned to Georgetown University this summer to study International Relations.
Olivia Fox, a Sophomore at SHS, has also been named one of eight Chapter Internal Affairs (CIA) representatives in the New Jersey Region of the Junior State America. The CIA position is viewed as one of the most important aspects to the inner workings of the Junior State. It provides the link between the State Cabinet and the student chapters in order for them to stay informed about upcoming events, register for conventions and host exciting activities within their respective schools.
